As you may rememeber, I've declared war to double pointed needles... I was really dissatisfied with how the mitts looked with these horrible spaces between the stitches (where the stitches from one DPN finish and I move to the next DPN). So I ought myself tiny circulars! Yay! Now those mitts are a real pleasure to make!
This is how far I am with the second one:
I use 12 inches ones with the mitts, but I got myslef also the 8 inches little beauties. They're so cute and tiny! I simply love them! (Although they weren't very cheap... Hey, why are the smaller ones so expensive? They're like twice as much as 24")
Can't wait to use them!
Your mitts look so pretty, you must be pleased. I've always thought it must be nightmare working with those circular needles, especially those little tiny ones, you must be very clever.
ReplyDeleteThose circulars are so tiny!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen tiny little circs like that! DPNs just take practice!
ReplyDeleteFirst, your mitts look amazing--so intricate and feminine. Second, I don't know why those little cable needles are so much, but I will pay it in order to avoid dpn's!! I don't need any unnecessary nightmares where my knitting is concerned. ;)
ReplyDelete*smiles*
I also dislike the way dpns make a gap, so I'll have to check out a short circular, I've never heard of it untell now. Also, I like the cable you have so far.
ReplyDeleteI love the mitts, they're looking fantastic. The tiny circulars are so dainty and cute! I knit with my crochet hook so I don't have that problem. :)
ReplyDeleteI probably shared with you my love of DPNs but I understand that they're not for everyone. I'm so impressed that you found those tiny circulars. I've never tried them before -- in fact, I don't think I've every even seen them in a store -- and love that you found a solution. Your mitts look beautiful so far!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree re dpn's. I'd love to know how you go with those tiny circs. Can I ask where you got them please?
ReplyDeleteOh your mitts look yummy! That blue-greyish color is so nice!! If I ever dare to take up knitting, I'm going to try those circulare needles too!
ReplyDeleteI've used 12s before and they're still easy to handle. I have a 9" and boy there is hardly any needles on that bamboo.
ReplyDeleteI'm comfy w/DPNs as I learned to first use them for the first project we embarked upon in class - a stockinette beanie.
Glad you found an alternative to knitting the mitts up and are happy and chuggin' along. It's lookin' really awesome.
Gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteI love my tiny circs for socks!!
