I've almost finished my second YoP project and... well, I must say I'm dissatisfied. I changed the proportions of the original pattern - I wanted it to be smaller, but I guess it's too long now...
I seem to have two options now - to leave it as it is, to frog the upper sheep part and make a few white/blue rows so that it isn't very plain at the top.
The third option is of course to frog the upper sheep part and the saying and make the space between the sheep and the saying smaller. But of course I'd love to avoid doing that...
So... what do you think? Is it very bad as it is or shall I leave it alone? Help!
Well, if it is the width you want it to be, I think taking out the sheep at the top is probably the least irritating option.
ReplyDeleteIf it's just an issue of proportions, I guess you could make it slightly wider by picking up stitches on the long edges and crocheting outwards a few rows on each side.
I love the sheep though, they look awesome!
I think I would take out the sheep at the top too, and just put in a band of which. It's really lovely though!
ReplyDeleteI love it as is - I would probably leave it alone. I can't imagine any problems caused by a blanket that is very long. At worst, it will give your feet more room to cuddle in!
ReplyDeleteIf it is a baby blanket, I like those a little longer than they are wide, especially to tuck around a carseat. I think it is lovely and would probably leave it as it is.
ReplyDeleteI like it in the second picture without the sheep on top. I don't know that you'd need to add in anything. I was also thinking that you could leave it as is and add a border to each side to widen it.
ReplyDeleteLike others, I think I would take out the top row of sheep and knit a white band--or maybe a striped white and blue band? Maybe that would be too busy looking...for sure a white band.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a sweet little blanket for your own little bundle of sweetness!
*smiles*
i think...you are BUSY with your new one, and it is beautiful as it is! :o)
ReplyDeleteI like it the way it is funny enough. Baby blankets should always be a bit longer, how many times have I had one that I could have done with a bit extra. I love the sheep on it and think they are lovely both top and bottom, they finish it off lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're not completely happy with it! I think it's lovely as it is right now, I like that it's longer than it is wide, that it's a bit different from the "usual" size makes it special!
ReplyDeleteBut if you really don't like it, I would frog the top part, like in the 2nd picture.
Still I hope you can learn to love it as it is!
