Easter chick free pattern


If you like crocheting Easter decorations, I really hope you'll enjoy this easy pattern. I created it a few years ago and thought it would be nice to share it with you.


Hook: 1,25mm
Yarn: crochet thread 65m in 10g
100% cotton
yellow and orange

Easter chick:

ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
sl st - slip stitch
inc - 2 stitches in one
dec - 2 stitches worked together
x5/x3 - repeat 5/3 times
(x) - number of stitches in a row


Body:

ch2
1. 6sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
2. inc x6 (12)
3. (1sc, inc) x6 (18)
4. (5sc, inc) x3 (21)
5. (6sc, inc) x3 (24)
6. (7sc, inc) x3 (27)
7. (8sc, inc) x3 (30)
8. - 9. 1sc around (30)
10. (8sc, dec) x3 (27)
11. (7sc, dec) x3 (24)
12. (6sc, dec) x3 (21)
13. (5sc, dec) x3 (18)
14. (1sc, dec) x6 (12)
15. dec x6 (6)
Fasten off, leave quite a long piece of thread for sewing.


Wings (make 2):

ch4
1. 6dc in the 3rd ch from the hook (6)
Fasten off, leave quite a long piece of thread for sewing.


Beak:

ch2
1. 5sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (5)
2. 1sc around (5)
Fasten off, leave quite a long piece of thread for sewing.


Feet (make 2):

ch4:
1. (1sc,ch1, sl st) x3 - on the other side of the chain - skip 1, 1sc, sl st in the last stitch.
Fasten off, leave quite a long piece of thread for sewing.


Finishing:

Sew the beak, wings and feet onto the body. Embroider the eyes of sew two small beads.
